DesktopSpider — Introduction

DesktopSpider is a small desktop pet for Windows that lives right on your desktop.

A little spider will wander around your screen, react to your mouse, chase it, run away, and occasionally do some completely unnecessary weird things. You can customize how it behaves through the settings.

🕷️ Make Your Own Character

You can also create your own DesktopSpider character!

Characters are made from image files for different animations:

• Walk — the main walking animation
• Idle — what your spider does when it's standing still
• Exit — an animation played when the spider leaves

Just prepare the corresponding character files and add them to DesktopSpider.

And yes, Exit is completely optional.

I was too lazy to make an Exit animation for the default character, so if you don't make one either, that's totally fine. If you do make an Exit animation, though, DesktopSpider will happily use it.

Make a spider, a creature, a little guy, or whatever you want. Just don't blame me if it starts staring at your mouse.

⚙️ Customize

You can adjust things like movement speed, mouse reactions, and other behavior settings to make your spider feel the way you want.

DesktopSpider is meant to be a tiny companion for your desktop — not a game you have to play.

Just leave it running and let your little spider do its thing.
